This in an innovative method, in knee surgery, using the newest augmented reality system Knee+ (Augmented Reality Navigation for Total Knee Arthroplasty) provided by Pixee Medical Co and the certificated surgical team of TheMIS.
Knee+ is used in total knee arthroplasty and provides the orthopaedic surgeon acute information about an accurate and perfect implantation. This becomes possible by the use of augmented reality glasses, that the surgeon uses during the operation. The glasses set with accuracy, the 3D position of the surgical instruments, scanning and analyzing their QR-Code pointers.
The navigating information are given by the glasses to the surgeon and help him define the knee structures,so he can watch and program every step of the operation, in real time.
The result is most accurate osteotomies ( in degrees and mm ) according to the mechanical axis of the patients limb, on the base of special anatomical structures. During the session special pointers permit an accurate implantation of total knee arthroplasty.
